Kristin Lisenby is a Storyteller and Word Witch living in the Azores Islands. She is the co-creator and author of the Little Witch Series, Little Witch Tales, and co-founder of Pointy Hat Press, a publishing house exploring Witchcraft and Paganism through a modern lens. She is also the co-host of Magick & Alchemy, a podcast by Tamed Wild.
Kristin has a BA in Modern Language & Literature from Cal Poly and has also studied at the University of Valladolid. She is passionate about plants, nearly-forgotten folklore, and all things Magical Realism. When she’s not writing, you can find Kristin digging in her lunar garden, caring for her beloved goats, and working alongside her partner to infuse new life into their century-old farmhouse. Caitlyn Barone is a New York-based educator, mother, and Art Witch. A lover of flowers and folklore since childhood, Caitlyn believes that nature and mysticism inspire creative expression in a way that feels organic, playful, and of course, a bit witchy. She is the co-creator and illustrator behind the Little Witch Series, as well as the co-founder and creative director of Pointy Hat Press, a publishing house dedicated to magickal stories and the humans who love them.
Caitlyn has a BA in Art and Art History, a Master in Art Education, and is a certified Art Teacher in NYS. She works as a freelance illustrator contributing to publications like Llewellyn Worldwide. The daughters of Hecate are stargazers and sibyls. They are curious ghosts, consuming the night until their eyes sparkle and their words become moon-shaped. Hecate’s language is ancient, lunar and serpentine, yet her children are fluent in these mysteries. They weave Hecate’s hymns into their dreams, rituals, and creative quests, crafting a living altar for the Mother of Witches.

Starting on October 30th, join Pointy Hat Press co-founders Caitlyn Barone and Kristin Lisenby for a three-week art workshop and ritual in intuitive art-making and creative mediumship. Cloaked in the mysteries of the Samhain season, participants will gather around the virtual candle for a collective psychic experiment, using art as a doorway into the creative unconscious and crafting art altars for Hecate, the Mother of Witches.
This workshop explores mythical and occult symbolism, mediumistic art-making methods, and triplicity in magick and artistic composition. Over three weeks, our coven will create mixed-media triptychs (tri-formed altar pieces) informed by the Hecatean language shaping our personal lives and our collective experience together.
This series invites artists of all levels to divine with their unconscious material through collective and spontaneous art-making methods. No experience is needed, just a blank page, a curious heart, and a desire to venture beyond the physical veil.

DO I NEED TO ATTEND ALL WORKSHOPS LIVE?
No! This program is intended to support any schedule. Although we’d love to have you join the live weekly workshops, you can also move at your own pace by watching the recordings.
HOW DO I JOIN THE LIVE MEETINGS?
You’ll receive an email the Monday before each class with a Zoom link to join our gathering, along with any supplies needed. When you sign up for The Creative Occult, please include your current email address in the survey. This is the email address all communication will be sent to.
